Give the Gift of Education
The Monroe Foundation was established in 1993 to assist individuals in the pursuit of higher education at the institution of their choice and to further other important educational purposes. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. It accomplishes its mission by granting scholarships to students enrolled in institutions of higher education to help them defray the cost of tuition and participate in educational enrichment activities. The Monroe Foundation also provides grants to other worthy educational institutions and not for profit organizations.
The Monroe Foundation holds an annual fundraising event to honor Craig Rutman, the first Director of Monroe College’s Culinary Program. The funds raised at that event are used as scholarships for students who are accepted and attend Monroe College’s Semester Abroad program in Italy to pursue culinary and hospitality degrees.
Institutions and initiatives that the Monroe Foundation has previously supported through student scholarships and contributions include:
Monroe College, College of Westchester, Northwestern University School of Law, Culinary Study Abroad Program, New Rochelle Fund For Educational Excellence, NY Public Library, Entrepreneurial Assistance Program, Sage College of Albany, Maryville College, SUNY Albany and University of New Haven |
