Welcome to the King Graduate School’s MPH Program. We are excited that you have chosen our school to further your education.
It is my privilege to be the Academic Dean for the MPH Program. Our mission is to provide a high-quality, student-centered learning environment that seeks to achieve the highest levels of excellence in teaching, research and community service, while fostering in our students the sense of professionalism that will enable them to excel throughout their careers. The faculty represents the very best in the complement of ideas, education, and public health experience offered in service to the people of New York and the rest of the Tri-State area.
Monroe College’s MPH program is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career in public health and for those who want to enhance their careers. The program is planned to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to identify and resolve public health problems in diverse populations/communities; to provide knowledge through scientific investigation of diseases; and to help communities through collaborative efforts with organizations and agencies.
The program offers two concentrations: Community Health, and Health Administration and Leadership. These concentrations are driven by a curriculum that provides extensive knowledge and skills needed to conduct the essential public health services.
The majority of the professional positions in public health require a graduate degree as this allows individuals to carry out the core functions of public health. Upon graduation students will be prepared to pursue careers in government agencies, academia, health care institutions, public health interest groups, and non-profit organizations upon graduation.
In the King Graduate School we are committed to your professional education and personal development, and we believe this is what sets us apart.
