Mission: The Institute will become a recognized center for: Collecting and cataloging research in urban issues; conducting primary researching urban issues; publishing and disseminating pertinent research findings; conducting community outreach initiatives to positively affect the issues within the scope of its research activities. The Institute will broaden the academic experience of Monroe College faculty and students by directly engaging them in the real issues of urban communities. Through partnerships with the community leaders and organizations, it will be identified as a valuable resource for the urban community development.
