The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and must be completed to apply for any type of financial aid program, including student loans.
- Go to www.pin.ed.gov to apply for a PIN to provide you access to your personal information in the US Department of Education systems.
- One to two days after completing your application, you will receive an email notification with instructions on how to retrieve your PIN. (Be sure to check your junk/spam email box as well, some notifications end up there).
- Go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ to fill out a FAFSA online. You will need your PIN and current income information to complete your FAFSA form.
