Suggestions for Online Success

  • Because online students study independently, it is vital that they are disciplined about their work, well-organized and effectively manage their time.
  • Stay in touch with your instructor throughout the course.
  • Submit all of your work before the deadlines for full credit.  This also helps avoid stress and disappointment.
  • Have hardware and Internet service provider backups. That means if your computer system fails, you know you have access to another computer or Internet service provider for completion of your coursework. Of course, if you are on the Monroe College campus (Bronx or New Rochelle), you can use computers in the Learning Resource Centers or Libraries.
  • Familiarize yourself with how to get help when you need it.
    • If the problem relates to the course content or assignments, contact your instructor
    • If the problem is of a technical nature, contact the Monroe College Help Desk at 718.933.6700 ext. 8290 for assistance.
    • For help registering for your courses and other administrative needs contact the Online Learning Office at 718.933.6700 ext. 8592 or send an email to online@monroecollege.edu.

On rare occasions, the Monroe E-Learning system will experience interruptions. Please let your instructor know if this has caused any delays in your work.
