Campus Safety

Monroe has policies and procedures in place for contacting authorities should any cause for concern arise. The college administration meets regularly with local precinctsto review security plans and ensure quick response time. should an emergency occur, the college also has procedures for initiating its own investigations and for informing family and friends.

Every Monroe College building has a security guard posted 24 hours-a-day and identification cards are required to enter any building for all students, faculty and staff. So that students can feel safe after dark in the Bronx, Monroe has installed lighting fixtures on the streets and around nearby bus and subway stops.

In New Rochelle, most dorms are equipped with security cameras and all have roving security guards who are posted 24 hours a day. Resident assistants are on call every day and night so students always have a staff member available.
