Summer Law for High School Students
IS A CAREER IN LAW RIGHT FOR YOU?
Applications are currently being accepted for the unique Summer Law for High School Students on the New Rochelle Campus from Sunday, August 17th – Friday, August 22nd
Summer Law is for the serious-minded student who knows how to have fun. It's all about exposure to the wide world of Law and Law Enforcement. Judges. Lawyers. Prosecutors. Police. Corrections. Real-life experts who are eager to share their experiences with young people who are curious about their career paths.
Led by School of Criminal Justice Assistant Dean Michele Rodney, who is a former prosecutor, Monroe's impressive Summer Law faculty will provide real-world insights into the criminal and civial court systems, the experiences of trial lawyers and judges, the challenges of law enforcement, and the benefits of a legal education.
Summer Law students attend and observe court proceedings, talk with panels of practicing professionals, learn the history and significance of the Civil Rights movement, and learn the art and science of legal debate. You'll also find out how to chart a path to law school.
Make new friends as you get a taste of college life by residing in the state-of-the-art dormitories on the New Rochelle Campus of Monroe College, just a 30-minute train ride from midtown Manhattan. Together you'll experience the rich culture of New York City, with guided excursions to cultural and historical sites throughout the week.
