Monroe College’s New York Soccer Academy serves a variety of student athletes.
The academy offers participants the opportunity to train 5 days per week in an intense soccer culture without using their NCAA eligibility. The academy uses the same modern facilities as the Monroe College Varsity Soccer team. These include a recently built lighted artificial turf field as well as indoor facilities.
The Academy’s soccer curriculum is a progressive year-long program that models many professional clubs. The focus is on educating players on many career opportunities in the business of sports. The curriculum includes individual assessment and skill development, individual tactical concentration, team tactics, coach development, fitness for soccer, goalkeeper education and nutrition. Classes use video and computerized animation to illustrate many of the key topics. The academy is run by Marcus Dibernardo.
