Each Monroe College student is assigned a counselor based on the student's schedule and major. Because the priority of the Student Services staff is to ensure that each student has the best college experience possible, each student counselor and support staff member is available to answer any questions and help students with any problems, whether academic or personal.
Monroe's counselors are trained to be proactive. They do not sit back and wait for problems to arise; they regularly contact students and keep strong lines of communication open with professors. Additionally, a comprehensive orientation program and regular student programs are designed to make students aware of obstacles that can derail a college education so that students have the knowledge and tools to avoid those pitfalls. |
