Community Health prepares the student to analyze the public health needs in a
community and develop programs to improve the population’s health. Community
health work further involves investigation of the causes of poor health and
disease, providing health education to affected communities; implementing
programs to improve health and healthcare access; and advocating for public
policy that supports community health. The course work will focus on the
prevention and control of diseases, health status assessment, health
disparities, nutrition and the effect of the environment on the overall
wellness of a community. The graduate will provide
at-risk populations, hospital patients or company employees with education for
