    Associate (AAS) Degree Program in Sports Management

    An Associate degree in Sports Management prepares students for entry-level positions in the growing field of sports management. Students will learn the fundamentals of how professional clubs oversee their business, the components of event management, finance and budget strategies, marketing and how to initiate promotional campaigns. Students can also explore issues in media sports coverage and principles of ethics and law in business.

    Graduates will gain a solid foundation in the full range of business and sports management concepts, develop business writing and verbal communication skills appropriate to the field, and be qualified to apply for administrative sports management positions. Earning a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management will open up further opportunities in the field.  

    According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, the business side of sports-related jobs has seen a substantial amount of growth in the US, with promoters of performing arts, sports, and similar events growing by 30 percent between 2010 and 2014 and agents and managers for artists, athletes, entertainers, and other public figures growing by 17 percent.
