Each Monroe College student is assigned a counselor based on his/her schedule and major. Because the purpose of the Student Services staff is to ensure that every student has an ideal college experience, counselors and support staff members are available to help students with any issues, whether academic or personal.
Monroe's counselors proactively reach out to students and maintain strong lines of communication with professors. Additionally, a comprehensive orientation and regular student programs are designed to help students avoid common pitfalls that can derail a college educational experience.
Another useful resource is the Monroe College Undergraduate Student Handbook. In addition to all the typical challenges that college students face, international students have another set of concerns. Those can include visa status, employment requirements and adjustment to a new culture.
The Office of Student Services can assist international students with any issues that may arise regarding visa status and employment eligibility, The Office of Student Services is also available to assist with any other personal and/or academic concerns.
