CINY Competition Team Wins ACF Northeast Regional Championship

Congratulations to the culinary competition team from our Culinary Institute of New York (CINY)!  Our NY State Champions were in Buffalo over the weekend, where they earned the ACF Northeast Regional Championship title after competing against talented teams from neighboring states. Congratulations to coaches Dean Frank Costantino and Chef Eric Pellizzari, team members Kathy Peralta (captain), Gianna Aquino, Jose Suarez, Joanna Parson, and Julie Velazquez, and to the team’s freshman apprentices Lilibeth Velazquez, Katherine Cardoza, Geannaby Hernandez, and Casey Creazzo. Senior Nicholas Giambrone, the most decorated Monroe College student to compete in CINY’s history, took second place in the Student Chef of the Year competition, missing the title by a very narrow margin. Well done, everyone!
