Cap and Gown Purchases
A cap and gown is not required to participate in our Virtual Commencement.
Many graduates, however, are opting to purchase them as a souvenir and to take photos with their family. You will have a chance to send in a photo for a photo montage to appear before the virtual Commencement begins. (Watch your College email for details!)
May 17th was the purchase deadline for grads interested in purchasing a cap and gown from our usual vendor.
Please don’t be stressed if you missed the deadline.
You may purchase a cap and gown from any retailer you'd like. As the graduating class won't be sitting together in person, it is absolutely ok if you don't all perfectly match in your regalia.
Amazon has cap/gown/tassel sets available.
Psssst: You won’t be on camera during the Virtual Commencement, so nobody will know if you choose not to buy a cap and gown.
We will hold our Commencement Awards ceremonies during the month of August for our Fall 2020, Winter 2021, and Spring 2021 graduates. A formal invitation will be sent with further details.
The event will recognize students graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA, Latin Honors, Deans' Awards, and the Thesis of the Year Awards.
The School of Nursing will also conduct its Pinning Ceremony, and the School of Business and Accounting will induct members into the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society during their respective awards ceremonies.
The schedule will be posted here once finalized.
Your diploma will be ready approximately two or three months after the completion of your last semester.
It takes us a little time to confirm your credentials and have the beautiful documents printed.
Those who finished their programs at the end of the Winter semester will be contacted by the Registrar’s Office in mid-summer with information on how to have your diploma sent to you.
Diplomas are ready for our Fall 2020 graduates. If you did not receive a communication from the Registrar's Office with important information about having it shipped to you, please contact them for assistance.
On the Bronx campus, that would be Ms. Abigail Thorpe at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On the New Rochelle campus, that would be Ms. Georgia Williams at email@example.com.
