Students Participate in SOMOS Conference Collegiate Day

An energetic group of approximately 50 staff and students traveled to Albany earlier this month to participate in the 2019 SOMOS Collegiate Conference. The annual event, which focuses on issues impacting New York’s Latino community, is one of the state’s largest gatherings of Hispanic political, business, labor, education, and community leaders. College students from across New York came together for an afternoon of networking, idea sharing, and discussion. It was an honor to attend with our student, all of whom proudly represented the College in their Monroe shirts, sweatshirts, and the like. There was no mistaking the happy Monroe crowd in that audience! Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. served as the day’s master of ceremonies.
