Commencement to Be Held on June 15th at Radio City Music Hall
After two years of virtual Commencements due to the pandemic, President Jerome today joyfully announced that the event will be IN PERSON this year. It will take place on June 15th at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
“Nobody is happier than I am to be returning to an in-person graduation event after two years doing a virtual celebration,” he wrote in his email.
Due to the large size of the College’s graduating class, there will be a morning ceremony and an afternoon ceremony to accommodate the large number of family and friends expected to share in the graduates’ special day.
Students will be assigned to a specific ceremony based on their academic school. Degree programs are offered through Schools of Allied Health Professions, Business and Accounting, Criminal and Social Justice, Education, Hospitality Management, Information Technology, and Nursing, as well as through King Graduate School.
The Commencement Committee plans to announce which schools are assigned to each ceremony – and the number of guest tickets each graduate will receive – closer to spring.
A special Commencement page was added to the College’s website to keep graduates and their families abreast of the latest news and information. Updates will be posted there as well as emailed to graduates’ College email addresses.
The College will, of course, continue to keep a close eye on local COVID infection rates. A decision will be made in the weeks prior to Commencement regarding any proof of vaccination or face mask requirement.
As President Jerome cautioned in his announcement, “While we remain optimistic and excited to host Commencement in person, please understand that there’s always that slight chance that we will need to rethink those plans should local infection rates or other conditions become problematic closer to June. Whatever happens, our grads will have a lot to celebrate in June!”
