Emily Lopez is a kindergarten teacher at the Bronx Charter School for Excellence. "My student teaching experience helped me get my current job. It allowed me to do everything I’m doing now in the classroom – from creating lesson plans to attending student evaluation meetings," she says.
Emily graduated in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She did her student teaching at several NY public schools.
"I’m the teacher I am today because of Monroe. Being in a smaller class setting, having professors always available for extra help, and learning from other students from around the world allowed me to think outside the box and better appreciate how different students may think.
