John notes that the clinical internship built into the course load is extremely valuable. “It helps students get a foot in the door and gain valuable experience in the field,” he says.
In his current position as the systems administrator for the Department of Quality Management at Montefiore Medical Center, John oversees all aspects of the Midas database, creating new focus studies for quality and performance improvement projects and analyzing all the data entered into the adverse event reporting system. “The knowledge I am gaining in biostatistics and epidemiology will be invaluable in helping me grow in the healthcare field,” he says.
