Yesenia Gonalez

"I had enrolled at other colleges, but I felt lost. That's when I transferred to Monroe."

Yesenia Gonzalez credits Monroe College with giving her a second chance, a turning point that marked a significant change in her life. She recalls how the other colleges she had enrolled in previously didn't provide the support she needed, leaving her feeling lost. Her experience at Monroe, however, was entirely different. Within a week, she received her acceptance letter, and the smooth transition amazed her.

At Monroe, her professors and advisors provided unwavering support, helping her to earn her degree. Despite having small children and a hectic schedule, her advisor ensured that she stayed on top of her classes, preventing her from needing to take time off and fall behind. The teachers understood her situation and helped her complete her work and graduate. Throughout her struggles, someone at Monroe was always there, reaching out and offering support.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing in 2019. After her time at Monroe, Today, Yesenia worked as the Pathology Coordinator at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Today, she serves as the Medical Reimbursement Specialist at Trident USA Health Services.
