Your Future Public Health Career
Your degree will prepare you for a variety of jobs in the public health field. Some typical positions:
- Public health advocate: Educate community members on the best ways to achieve healthy lifestyles; identify public health threats.
- Public health program specialist: Develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate health information programs.
- Public health emergency response coordinator: Direct emergency response preparedness drills. Develop response plans to meet departmental needs; compile and analyze data.
- Public health policy analyst: Evaluate current health policies and identify how they can be improved.
- Community outreach worker: Help an organization with public education, volunteer recruitment and coordination, media campaigns and fundraising.
- Patient advocate: Help patients and families with financial information, address complaints and help patients understand their medical rights.
