“Summer Slam” Welcomes Incoming Freshmen to Monroe

Our First-Year Experience teams in the Bronx and New Rochelle did a phenomenal job last Friday as we hosted 260 or so incoming freshmen for our annual “Summer Slam” orientation event. We launched the program last year to help our new students get to know each other and the College a bit better before starting classes. It was such a terrific experience for our freshmen that we made it a regular part of our orientation efforts. Friday’s events included a strong mix of fun events and team-building exercises. Many faculty and staff were involved in making Summer Slam a great success. Thank you to Dr. Karenann Carty, Evan Jerome, Carol Genese, Edith Banks, and Romario Dacosta for their incredible leadership planning the day and making sure all the events ran smoothly.
