As we enter another month of the remarkable year at the Culinary Institute of New York, we continue to witness the incredible journey our students have embarked on in 2023. Throughout the past month, we have had the privilege to celebrate the unwavering dedication and passion exhibited by each student, as they fearlessly pursued their education and advanced their culinary careers.

April 1, 2023

ACF Long Island Chapter Competition

The month of April started off with great excitement as numerous students embarked on a journey to compete at the prestigious annual April ACF competition held at Eastern Suffolk BOCES in Long Island. It was particularly remarkable as many of these competitors participated in their first official ACF event and achieved commendable results, earning honorable medals in the process. This competition was open to any student who had the passion and desire to showcase their talent.

Michigan Show 2023 - Pushing Boundaries

In late April, our Core Culinary Team made remarkable strides. Accompanied by head coach Dean Costantino and assistant coach Chef Pellizzari, the ten-member team embarked on a journey to compete at the prestigious Michigan Show. This renowned event is the largest non-military ACF competition, boasting over 170 competitors this year. Each member of our team deserves recognition. Additionally, the five-member menu team took on the challenge of creating individual dishes as part of their preparations for the upcoming training camp.

Michigan Show 2023 - Making a Statement

An extraordinary event took place at the Michigan Show that deserves special attention. The supporting team, consisting of five individuals, voluntarily participated in a challenging knife skills and chicken fabrication competition. Astonishingly, the entire team achieved a clean sweep of gold medals, with one member even receiving a perfect score of 100!
